Follow up:
All views in System Center Operations Manager 2007 created with Savision Live Maps allow you to configure audible alarms.
To enable audible alarms start the OpsMgr operations console and select one of the views you have created with Live Maps. Clicking the speaker icon in the toolbar allows you to configure audible alarms per health state / alert severity.

You can add your own sounds by copying your WAV files to the '%Program Files%\System Center Operations Manager 2007\AlarmSounds' directory.
Looking for other sounds? Some very irritating alarm sounds can be found here. Or just google on 'alarm sounds' and you will find plenty.
